“My biggest highlight from BIC was the challenges and activities! They put me in an environment where I could challenge myself, develop my skills, and build relationships with the other campers!”
Big Idea Camp, Regina’s Tech Startup Bootcamp for teens, will get campers to think bolder, brighter, and BIGGER! Taking place on AUGUST 11 + 12, participating teens will dive into what it takes to START, GROW, and SCALE a tech startup from right here in Regina.
Cultivator has teamed up with Strategy Lab to organize challenges for the teens that develop their skills, confidence, and most importantly, get them connected to local entrepreneurs and businesses. Campers will gain first-hand knowledge from some of Regina’s top innovators and best leaders in the industry. Our goal is to have campers leave with a toolbox of takeaways that have them ready to get involved in the Sask startup ecosystem in their future.
A big part of Big Idea Camp is the community it has built. We are so grateful to have so many community partners and alumni who are so eager to come back and be a part of the camp time and time again. This year we are pumped to have four alumni returning to Big Idea Camp!
Minjung Kim, Mercedes Phillips, and Aaser Keshta will be back participating in the camp as participants! Their previous participation will give them a foundation to build off of and the opportunity to be leaders and continue to develop their skills!
This year we welcome back a Big Idea Camp alumni from 2017 + 2018: Noah Rainbow. Noah joined the cultivator team in May 2022 as a summer student and has joined forces with Kyle Lugt to organize the camp for 2022 teen campers!
Here’s what the returning alumni had to say about their previous participation in Big Idea Camp:
“My biggest highlight from BIC was the challenges and activities! They put me in an environment where I could challenge myself, develop my skills, and build relationships with the other campers!”
“Through BIC I learned that business does not always have to be serious, but it can also be fun and exciting! By learning this, I tried my best to bring fun to Campbell Business Club and make others as excited as I am about business!”
“For people participating this year I would definitely say get the most of your experience at BIC. Get to know people, and just get out there! With BIC connections I was able to land a job which shows how important it is.
“The highlight of my time at BIC was definitely getting to know the people at camp and making a bunch of new friends and connections. As well as the multiple marketing challenges!”
Cultivator and Strategy Lab are so excited to finally meet all the campers in person on August 11. We have a few tricks up our sleeves and we can’t wait to share them!
