Cultivator Brings Canadian Innovation to World Agri-tech in London, UK
In late September, Cultivator embarked on a journey to London, UK alongside AGTECH ACCELERATOR companies and partners, for World Agri-tech Summit. This mission was made possible through our partnership with Innovate UK, with the overarching goal of facilitating a reciprocal value-added relationship between Canadian companies, creating investor connections and cultivating global collaborations — and vice versa for UK companies to do the same when they take part in AGTECH ACCELERATOR programming. Joining us this year at the World Agri-Tech Summit were nine Canadian and three UK alumni companies from AGTECH ACCELERATOR Cohorts 1, 2, and 3.
One of the highlights of our time in London was hosting a breakout session at World Agri-Tech Summit with those in attendance. Each founder had the opportunity to pitch their company and highlight their tech, growth journey, and future plans for growth. Each company delivered a three-minute pitch to an audience of investors, fellow founders, industry leaders and potential partners. With standing room only, the event was a resounding success, amplifying the visibility of our founders on a global stage.
Founder Pitches:

Rob Saik, CEO, AGvisorPRO
Michael Cully, CEO, Susterre
Logan Skori, CEO, AgGene
Darren Anderson, CEO, Vive Crop Protection
Karen Schuett, CEO, Livestock Water Recycling
Sean O’Connor, CEO, 4AG
Tayab Soomro, CEO, PathoScan
Alicia Showering, CEO, BugBiome
Casey Woodward, CEO, AgriSound
Bianca Forte, Business Development Director, SugaROx
In addition to the breakout session and pitches, we hosted a founder and investor social, allowing founders to strengthen their connections with investors and partners. One of the participating founders shared that these events led to five new meetings with investors interested in supporting their company, demonstrating the tangible value of the networking opportunities created at World Agri-tech.
“Time and time again, Cultivator proves itself to be the ideal champion of the companies in their program. What they do better than anyone else is grab a large spotlight at important events, and thrust it on us startups that struggle to get investors attention. At the World Agri-Tech conference in London, we had the chance to pitch in a crowded audience our business, which then resulted in five new meetings booked with investors from around the world. These are the types of actions that can change the trajectory of a startup like 4AG Robotics, and we are so grateful for this opportunity.” – Sean O’Connor, CEO at 4AG Robotics
Cultivator made a strong impression at the World Agri-tech Summit with a booth that became a focal point for innovation and collaboration. The AGTECH ACCELERATOR companies in attendance were featured, showcasing their innovations to summit attendees. Our presence at World Agri-tech was a great experience, highlighting the strength of Canadian agtech innovation and creating meaningful global connections. We had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and organizations that share our vision for advancing agriculture and forged numerous meaningful connections that expanded our global investor network and set the stage for future partnerships and innovations, ultimately driving the growth of our program.
The Cultivator delegation to World Agritech Summit in London was an excellent opportunity to connect with like-minded start-ups, investors and strategic partners, sharing ideas and building new partnerships. – Michael Riedijk, President & CEO, at Lucent Biosciences
In addition to World Agri-Tech Summit, Cultivator had the opportunity to host agtech founder roundtable discussions at Canada House, alongside Innovate UK and the High Commission. What better location than Canada House to facilitate global connections between Canada, and beyond? This building symbolizes the strong and enduring ties between Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as innovation and economic collaboration. These sessions sparked open conversations and discussion among founders, giving them a chance to collaborate, exchange insights, and tackle some of the biggest challenges facing their growing ventures. Alongside our 15 program alumni, we were thrilled to welcome prospective companies eager to explore joining Cohort 4 of the AGTECH ACCELERATOR. Thank you to Innovate UK for the continued support and partnership and for hosting us across the pond.
Thank you to Innovate UK and the numerous other partners and supporters for making this trip a success. We look forward to continuing to build and position Saskatchewan as a global agtech hub and feature Canadian companies on world-class stages.
